In 2024, I, Xander Stegerman, started developing Early Retirement Calc as a hobby project. It soon attracted a lot of interest within the Dutch FIRE community. Since then, all kinds of new features have been added at the request of users, and the tool has continued to grow. I really enjoy giving something back to the community in this way and helping others with their FIRE plans.
Early Retirement Calc is and will remain completely free. No ads, no tracking cookies and no storage of personal financial data. Just a free tool that anyone can use, with no hidden business model.
Although I really enjoy FIRE and programming, developing and maintaining the tool naturally takes quite a bit of time.
